Many things have changed here in Ukraine during the time we were in the U.S., but people's souls haven't changed, nor have their needs. When I went to check on our ministry center, Lyuba, the lady who has a store next door, invited me in for some coffee along with her husband and adult daughter. The Lord opened a door for me to share the plan of salvation with them for at least 20 minutes as they listened and asked questions with great interest.
As we traveled to the city yesterday to meet with some pastors and get some supplies, we picked up some travelers along the way (as it is common to do here in Ukraine, many people not having cars). I drove and Oksana witnessed to them, and by the time one lady had to get out at her stop, she was crying, had opened and shared some painful circumstances in her life, and Oksana was encouraging her with the promises of God.
As we look at these challenges and the spiritual darkness that surrounds us, we are acutely aware of our own frailty and weakness. But if God will use us as His vessels to shine His light through us, I believe that He can and will use us to penetrate this darkness with His glorious light!
Please pray for us as we seek to adjust back into our life and ministry here in Ukraine, and pray that we would be full of God's Spirit to face every opportunity with the power of God resting upon us - "more than conquerors!"
