Ministering in Ukraine
The
Sobie
Family
Hello, and welcome to the internet home of the Sobie family! My  name is Scott, and our family has a desire to serve the Lord by serving the people of Ukraine where Oksana, my wife, was raised and where we have felt the call of God. This web site is an opportunity for us to post regular updates so that you, our friends and prayer supporters, can effectively know how our family is doing, what we are doing, and how you can pray! May Jesus Christ be honored and glorified! Thank you, and we hope that you enjoy our site!

Prayer Requests:
- We ask you to pray especially for the people around our ministry center in the village of Balki, Ukraine, that the Lord would prepare their hearts for our ministry among them when we return.

-  Pray for our good friends in the churches in the Zaporozhye region (where we minister) that they would have God’s blessing in their services and outreach.

- Pray that our documents would be processed in a timely way, and that God would continue to meet our needs so that we can return to Ukraine in the Lord’s perfect time.  Thank you for praying!

At last!   A website update!
We have been in America for almost two months and life has been flying by with little chance to even catch our breath!
However...happy new year to all!  The Lord has been gracious and faithful to us in every way.  Thanksgiving and Christmas were a wonderful time with friends and family here in the U.S., and on the weekends we have been traveling and speaking with various churches our groups of believers about the good things that God has been doing in Ukraine.  It has been wonderful to see so many dear friends who have prayed faithfully for us over the past years.
In order to help us get back to Ukraine sooner and cover the cost of our passports, visas, and tickets, I was able to get a full-

-time job working at ECS Tuning, a distributer of European auto parts.  We applied for new passports for our children and when we receive those, we can begin applying for our new Ukrainian visas.  In the meantime, each weekend over the next several weeks is scheduled with a speaking appointment where the children will play their bells and sing, and we will share about our ministry in Ukraine.
We are so grateful for my (Scott’s) parents for a wonderful place to stay.  We treasure each moment with Mimi and Poppi (as they are affectionately known) and also with grandparents and aunts and uncles.  My brother, Nate, and sister, Danielle, were able to be in for a visit over the holidays and we had many special times with them.  We are still praying that it will work out to see my sister Carlee, her husband Nathaniel and their children before we return to Ukraine!
In the meantime, we continue to pray for the dear people to whom God has called us to minister in our Ukrainian homeland.  May God continue to bless that nation and cause His church to shine brightly as a light for Jesus Christ.  And may the souls in our village of Balki keep their hearts open so that we will return soon and find people ready to respond to the grace of God in Jesus.
